Graduated St. Luke's School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa (3 year hospital-based diploma program)
I have been a resident of Magic Valley for the last 40+ years (and married for almost that long!). My husband and I raised 4 sons here in Twin Falls. I have two wonderful daughters-in-law and 10 beautiful grandchildren (6 girls and 4 boys). I am the proud mother of one activity duty Marine. Over my 40 yr. career, I have worked as a staff nurse at TFCH, a Home Health and Hospice nurse, staff educator and quality assurance reviewer for a home health agency, legal nurse consultant (briefly), and a float prn nurse for St. Al's in Boise before becoming the secretary for Twin Falls Christian Academy and teaching evening CNA classes at CSI. I fell in love with teaching and when the position for a full time CNA instructor became available in 2008 I applied and was accepted. In August of 2013 I assumed the position of Program Director for Health Workforce Education here at CSI. I enjoy a lot of hobbies ranging from reading to cake decorating to playing with my grandkids.
I strive to assist each student to reach their maxium potential in my class. I challenge them to stretch themselves and try things that they have never attempted before. I try to keep my classes fun, lively and interesting while at the same time imparting the information the student will need to function as a CNA.
